Walking the city

Close the gap man, move. Ah what you doing? I move out the way. What you doing? I turn around. He is going round the other side of me. Oh your going that way I said. Into the doorway.

In Pret

The cafe I decided to come to has salsa dancers in. They keep changing their costumes in the kitchen.

Procrastination?

While i was trying to decide whether to make this book, a fly flew up my nose.

Summer is Coming

We lost the key to the garden door and I really want to be outside. Now I feel trapped.

Well we found the key under the incense box.

I feel stupid now.

Well you were your own captor. Capture

He appeared at the top of the fence staring at me. Eyes locked.

The neighbour’s cat that we called Wesley, after our street name.

The sun is out blaring strong, blaring down.

Observing, Waiting, Watching

One of us set the alarm off. He laughed and smiled at me as they left the shop.

What are you doing? Just having a break on my walk. An attempt to find galleries with no wifi failed or maybe I just preferred to remain outdoor and enjoy the sunshine after yesterday’s snowfall.

The last time I was outside I was greeted by sleet and thunder. Now I can stand outside with a cardigan on.

I watch those around me on my lunch break and wonder what I am doing. Walking around, hoping for things to happen? Attempting to look for my work. On the hunt for something, or perhaps someone ? Or just enjoying the remaining sunshine. Cos apparently it could snow at any moment.

I am here in central London with no map, no route. I wonder aimlessly through streets that I have been in before, yet taking alternate routes to those I have taken before.

Waiting for nothing to happen. Waiting for nothing. Except giving my back a break from the heavy backpack which contains my laptop. It is too heavy to carry. And I wanted to come on a walk but the laptop has to accompany me as I need to do my research file and documentation.

There’s always one guy who goes off and messes himself up and kills himself.

Walking versus the tube

A few hours of walking and I only got as far as two stops on the tube. Success.

Hello London.

The fan building is in sight. I am back. Home is over there.

The London Sky rises are in sight. Why do they make such an impact on me? A feeling. My fourth year is coming to an end. A funny time. Lots to in the next month. I hope I can hold on to this motivation that I have come back with. To spend time in the library and sometimes the studio. To focus and get it done.

The nice street next to waterloo that I will visit soon.

Walking

Is that a deer enjoying the shade on a warm spring evening or is that just a plant?

A bush blowing in the wind?

It looks more like a kangaroo lying down.

Turning its head.

The water had turned the path into a stream.

I change my path because the mud gets too much.

Silhouette

The one tree stands as a silhouette on the mountain edge. The lonely tree.

Oh no wait as we drive further along two more trees become visible.

Noticed

He was wearing one of my favourite brands of shoes. He was wearing Birkenstock sandals which are one of the best shoes for people with foot problems.

But the main reason for me noticing his feet was due to the amount of mud that coated them, all the way to his ankles. It was a strange sight. I wondered where he had been. I noticed the woman he was with had trainers on which were also covered in mud.

They must have been on a walk in Epsom and ended up at a muddy path which they could not avoid.

My friend and I went on a walk in Ashstead, not too far from Epsom, and we couldn’t get past a fork of muddy paths so we had to retrace our steps to find a dry path, which ended up being the road. I didn’t have the right footwear. I had Birkenstocks on, in fact.

But I decided against the muddy shoe path.
